What’s not to love about peaches? They’re juicy, they’re oh so sweet, and they scream summer. When it comes to cooking with peaches, your mind probably goes to baked goods. (Then again, maybe that’s just my mind, which is usually subject to my overactive sweet tooth.) But, good news for peach lovers, there’s much more to these sweet fruits than pies and tarts! With this simple peach salsa recipe, sweet, juicy peaches meet spicy jalapeño for a perfect fresh salsa.
Whether you enjoy this salsa with corn chips, on tacos, or even served with your favorite fish or chicken, it’s the perfect way to get your peach fix all summer long!
Sweet and Simple
This easy peach salsa recipe is as simple as it is sweet. Fresh peaches, roma tomatoes, and red onion, all diced small, make for a refreshing sweet and savory flavor combination. Meanwhile, lime juice, jalapeño and cilantro add some signature Southwestern zest and flavor no salsa would be complete without.
Chips and salsa is one of my all-time favorite snacks. It’s so simple, but such a universal crowd-pleaser. I always make sure to have a plate out whenever I’m entertaining. A sweet and savory (and slightly spicy) peach salsa is a great way to mix up the classic, especially in the summer. It’s such a fun and refreshing (not to mention sweet) twist on traditional tomato salsa, and it’s a great way to use up peaches!
Fire Up The Grill
What’s better than fresh peaches? Fresh grilled peaches. Totally optional, but if you have the extra time and want to take this recipe to the next level, grilling the peaches before dicing them can be a great way to add a little extra flair to this peach salsa recipe.
To grill your peaches to perfection, just cut them in half (before peeling), and remove the pit. Spray the cut side of the peach with non-stick cooking spray and place on a hot grill until lightly charred. Grilling the peaches adds a slight smoky flavor that really makes this recipe the perfect refreshing summertime salsa.
Enjoy this peach salsa with your favorite corn chips or pita, or serve on tacos, burritos, or nachos. Alternately, this peach salsa can also be a great way to add healthy, low-cal flavor to your favorite grilled chicken or fish recipes.
However you slice them, dice them, or grill them, peaches are a can’t-miss summertime ingredient. Make the most of them by whipping up a batch of this sweet and spicy peach salsa.
