Peanut Butter Swirl Fudge | Healthy Dessert Recipes

Here’s the thing about fudge: It seems fancy, right? You get it for Christmas gifts and from delicious-smelling specialty shops in touristy beach towns. It appears to be the kind of thing you have to buy if you want it done right. But, as it turns out, fudge is actually super easy to make. Our simple, no-bake Peanut Butter Swirl Fudge recipe makes tasty, beautiful, homemade fudge. That makes it one of our favorite healthy dessert recipes!

Best of all, this super sweet dessert uses clean ingredients. That means it’s healthier than traditional fudge, which is super dense with sugar, fat, and calories. I’m a firm believer that if a “healthy” dessert doesn’t actually taste good, you’re better off not eating anything at all. I’d always rather spend a few extra calories on a dessert that actually satisfies my sweet tooth than wasting the calories on an unsatisfying diet treat.

Fortunately, this Peanut Butter Swirl Fudge doesn’t force you to choose. Healthy dessert recipes like this one taste just as rich, sweet, and decadent as any fudge should. And, with a classic peanut butter and chocolate combo, this fudge tastes just like a peanut butter cup. Need we say more?

Sweet and Simple

This tasty dessert scores its A+ health cred thanks to simple, clean ingredients that don’t sacrifice any sweetness or flavor. When it comes to clean sweets and treats, coconut is almost always involved. You wouldn’t know it from the taste, though!

This Peanut Butter Swirl Fudge recipe is no exception. Coconut sugar, coconut oil, and canned coconut milk are the star players in this healthy treat. These clean substitutes for traditional ingredients like sugar, butter, and condensed milk are easy ways to lighten up a recipe without changing the flavor or consistency. We especially like Native Forest Simple Organic Unsweetened Coconut Milk for its mild flavor and nutritional profile.

But, don’t worry. When it comes to the big players (chocolate and peanut butter), we’ve stuck to the originals you know and love. Real chocolate chips and crunchy peanut butter make this fudge the chocolatey, peanut-buttery dessert you crave. It even has a little extra crunch to make it super satisfying. As always, we recommend our favorite Enjoy Life chocolate chips. They’re vegan, Paleo, and totally allergy-friendly, making these tasty chocolate chips the perfect go-to for all your baking needs.

Swirled to Perfection

This fudge may taste great, but it also scores major points for aesthetics. It’s called Peanut Butter Swirl Fudge for a good reason. All you need is a toothpick to achieve the perfect swirled dessert effect. Just pour the fudge into a baking dish, spread the peanut butter on top, and use a toothpick to gently swirl. Then, pop the whole thing in the freezer and chill until it’s set, about 2-3 hours.

This recipe makes about 24 servings of 1-inch fudge pieces. Each bite is the perfect remedy for your sweet tooth, and this pretty swirled dessert also makes a great gift. But, we have a feeling you’re going to want to keep a batch for yourself either way!
